Agility
Agility is a performance event that has grown in popularity since its introduction to the United States in the 1980's.  No wonder why, it certainly is a lot of  fun for both you and your dog!
Cockers excel at agility being naturally athletic and agile dogs who desire to work with and please their owners.
The object is to negotiate obstacles at various levels of difficulty comprised of jumps. tunnels, tires, A Frames, dogwalks, see saws, and weave poles and to do so as quickly as possible.
Before you begin any agility training with your dog be sure your dog is in shape and not overweight, as that can put alot of extra stress on their joints.  Also, a basic obedience background is helpful.  Your dog must stay with you, come when called, sit, down and stay on command.
I encourage all Cocker owners to get involved in this sport,  Its a lot of fun for both team mates, you'll make a lot of new friends, and you'll both stay in shape.
